Question:
Hi
I recently bought one of your engines to fit into my new plane. The item (according to the box) is part number 9040 GP-40. I have tried to find this engine on your website but am unable to locate it. My problem is as follows:
On the needle valve that goes into the carburetter is a retaining clip. My understanding is that this clip acts as a ratchet to stop the valve moving while in use. I beleive it is supposed to fit on the carb so that the curved clip sticking out fits over the needle grip. The one that has been supplied with mine appears to small for this job as it only just fits over the portion of the needle that has the rubber sealing ring on it. Where it is at the moment makes it impossible to fit the neddle into the carb.
Am I supposed to bend it open to fit onto the carb? Or is it the wrong size? And can you tell me if this engine is discontinued as I cannot locate it on your website.
Thank you
Regards
Antony Wright
Answer:
Dear Antony,
Thank you for the mail. Please refer to the attached photos on how to fit the retaining clip onto the carb.
GP-40 is a very old and discontinued engine. Most of the parts for it are not available, however, there might be some of them in common use with other existing engines. Thunder Tiger has authorized worldwide distributors that provid marketing and after service for our customers. May we have any idea of where you are from that we are able to inform you about the service center?
